With party primaries just around…

With party primaries just around the corner in Nigeria, the political atmosphere is becoming tensed. A key issue generating debate is whether the ruling APC will grant automatic tickets to all sitting governors. If that decision goes through, Governor Siminalayi Fubara could secure the party’s ticket in Rivers State under the APC.

At the same time, Nyesom Wike has made it clear that he does not intend to repeat what he sees mistake!!! Bringing Fubara Back. That statement has only added to the already tensed political friction in the state.

Fubara’s supporters, are confident. They believe he has the backing of strong figures at the national level, particularly Governor Hope Uzodimma, who leads the Progressive Governors’ Forum and he is widely said to be President Bola Tinubu strong ally in the South. According to them, this support could play a major role in securing Fubara a second term.

On the other side, Wike’s loyalists are equally sure. They insist the FCT minister still holds strong political influence and could trick the emergence of governorship candidates not just the APC, but also in the PDP.

Looking at the situation as a whole, it appears politically dubious. The possibility of one politician influencing outcomes across parties raises serious concerns about fairness and the future of democratic politics in Nigeria. It also risks sending the wrong message to younger politicians about how the system should work.

As for President Tinubu’s chances in Rivers State, they appear poor, The presence of strong political condensers like Rotimi Amaechi and Peter Obi, both of whom enjoy significant support in the state, could make the contest more tough. Coupled with the bad economy and also the state of emergency that has taken Rivers state ten years back. many voters in Rivers state may vote against the ruling APC.

I believe the situation might have been less complicated if the political crisis in Rivers State had been better handled squarely Instead, the lingering crisis now threaten to influence voter sentiment in a major way. In the end, Rivers State remains a desiesive factor in determining Nigeria’s next president.

Sim Fubara out of the race is a problem and if Gov Sim equally joins the race is also a problem for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Like we said earlier, Rivers state is like a time Bomb, politicians shouldnbe careful how they handle her issues, especially when it relates to political issues.
