The expatriate staff of Lubrik Construction Company (LCC), who was kidnapped along the Emouha-Kalabari Road about two weeks ago has regained his freedom. The disclosure was made by the Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Roland Sekibo, after a joint security meeting with his counterparts from Degema, Asari-Toru and Emouha local government areas on Monday.

The news of the expatriate’s release has been greeted with great relief, as the incident had stalled construction work on the Trans Kalabari Road. Traditional rulers, politicians and Kalabari sons and daughters had condemned the kidnap, describing it as an act of sabotage. Recall that the kidnap incident had prompted the four chairmen to set up a joint security outfit to provide extra security for the project.
