Soboma George’s killer Urban Gorilla paraded during DIG’s Visit to Rivers State

The Rivers State Police Commissioner,  CP Zaki Ahmed has vowed to eliminate criminals in the state,  reiterating that the command has zero tolerance for crime.

A press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Omoni Nnamdi, reads:  ” The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Training and Development and the supervising DIG, South-South geo-political Zone, DIG Emmanuel Inyang psc (+) mni,  today 21/4/2017 paid a working visit to the Rivers State Police Command, where he had a robust interactive session with service commanders,  PCRC, stakeholders,  traditional rulers and officers and men of the command.

” The interactive session which was segmented into three categories, saw the DIG dutifully and intelligently addressing the concerns raised by the groups, including those of the officers and men of the command.

“At the session held with the service commanders,  the DIG was impressed beyond measure on the cooperation and understanding existing among them and enjoined them to sustain the tempo.

“As part of the event. the DIG, eminent persons and service commanders were later conducted round, to inspect the successes and achievement’s recorded by the command between last week and now by the CP.

” Parading the suspects,  CP Zaki M. Ahmed who was visibly delighted promised to do more to ensure that Rivers State is safe and secure for all to live and do business unmolested.

“Among the suspects paraded is the notorious Anthony Pepple aka Urban Gorilla,  whose gang has been terrorizing the state in recent time, who confessed to have killed so many people in the state including an ex-mitant commander,  Soboma George.

“The Commissioner of Police also presented the DIG, twelve passengers that were kidnapped along the East West Road , two days ago and were rescued by the IGP’s monitoring unit.

“According to the CP, summary of the achievements are as follows:

1. Total no. Of suspects arrested – 38

2. No. Of cars recovered -16

3. No. Of AK47 recovered-  6

4. No. Of locally made pistols- 25

5. No. Of English pistols-  12

6. No. Of magazines-  5

7. 6 Bags of Indian hemp

” The CP wishes to advise the good people of Rivers State to continue to have confidence in the police as we are poised to reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum. ”

Those that graced the occasion include the AIG Zone 6, AIG Abubakar Marafa psc (+), CP Ports Authority,  CP Alex Opara, representatives of the commander, NNS Pathfinder,  GOC 6 Division,  Commander 115 operation group, DSS, Prisons, Immigrations, NDLEA, Commandant NSCDC, State Coordinator NYSC, Traditional Rulers,  PCRC, Eminent persons,  student bodies and senior police officers.
