In recent weeks, the Rivers state government has used our money to sponsor a smear campaign against the SARS commander here in Rivers state for the purpose of ensuring he is removed. At first they hid behind the failed #endSARS campaign, but since that has not worked, they have come all out to dance naked in the market square. We too will help strip them. A Governor who can not promote his state and create JOBS has time pay willing media to promote lies and hate.
For those who do not know. Here is why Wike is afraid of Akin:
1. In February of 2016, Wike called Akin Fakorede to his personal residence at midnight and offered him money to work with him. This was in the presence of two PDP chieftains. One is now a national officer. Akin did not accept the offer.
2. In 2016, two soldiers; Lance Corporal Yohanna Kamuji (No. 06NA/58/4456) and one Corporal Bello Lazarus (No. 96NA/143/9888) were brutally killed. Charles Emesiobi, Goodnews Kejeh and Goodluck Nwogbo were arrested with the soldiers weapons and a large cache of ammunition. The Rivers state government through the office of the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice asked for their release in writing. Akin refused. He went on to charge them to the Federal High Court – suit No. FHC/PH/10C/2016
3. During the rerun elections on Dec. 10th, PDP’s official agents were arrested with a large cache of weapons and INEC material. Again Akin Fakorede was asked to release them. Again he refused. The accused have been charged and are currently facing trial. Suit Nos. FHC/PH/86C/2017 and FHC/PH/90C/2017
Now you know why. There’s more. But let us first address their irresponsible claims:
In trying to impeach his character, they refer to a kangaroo report supposedly commissioned by INEC that passed a verdict without hearing from either the SARS commander or his alleged INEC victims. They claim that Akin assaulted INEC officials, but the official police report quotes the same officials as saying that PDP thugs and Wike’s police aides were the ones that attacked the staff. The viral photos of what happened that day show it all. The same Mary Tunkayo was holding on to Akin for protection!! Read below her sworn statement:
Following an internal investigation into the activities of the F-SARS commander, the Inspector General of Police found him above blame and also exonerated him effectively on December 7th, 2017. It is clear that the role Akin played in exposing Wike and INEC’s wrongdoings has placed a target on his back. Neither Wike nor his bad eggs will succeed. No amount of paid media blackmail will work We have a very discerning public.
