Twitter boss and co-founder Jack Dorsey has retired as the Chief Executive Officer of the renowned social media company after five years as the CEO making room for Parag Agrawal.

The former Twitter boss in a statement on November 29, 2021 said, “it’s finally time for me to leave” saying the company was “ready to move on from its founders” adding that he has deep trust for his replacement. In his letter to his Twitter Team, Dorsey praised the newly-appointed CEO Parag Agrawal for being behind every critical decision that helped transform the company.

Parag Agrawal, an Indian-American who joined Twitter in 2011 as distinguished software engineer and in 2017, he was made chief technology officer has been Dorsey’s closest ally in thinking about the future of the company. Little wonder Dorsey regards him as the best man for the job.

The 37-year-old Agrawal is a computer scientist with a PhD from Stanford University in California. He was responsible for Twitter’s technical strategy, including the advancement of the state of artificial intelligence machine learning.

Before joining Twitter in 2011, Agrawal worked in research at AT&T Labs, Microsoft and Yahoo.
