As the 2019 elections approaches, a non governmental organization in Rivers State has launched a campaign against vote buying and selling in different markets across the state. The president of the group, Rivers State Investors’ and Entrepreneurs Forum, Ibifuro Bobmanuel while sensitizing the traders urged them to shun all forms of electoral malpractices. He pointed out that Nigeria can get better if voting and buying is ignored.
“We are taking out time to go and sensitize them especially with the fact that the elections are around the corner. We are sensitizing our members and our affiliates to understand that, look we as businesses, we don’t have any interest in politics. We don’t play partisan politics. The only politics we play is politics that drive our businesses from one position to the next position. The politics we play is growth in our sectors. We’ve had this very fruitful meeting with them. We’ve heard all what they’ve said. we’ll take back what they’ve said and we’ll try and see how we’ll work with them to solve the issues”, he told newsmen.
