The need for effective management of businesses, simple book keeping, sourcing for funds and customer service/ etiquette formed the crux of a sensitization program organised by a non governmental organisation, Advancing women in Business, ADWIB.
Addressing hair dressers and plaiters at the FSP centre at mile 1 Diobu, axis of Rivers State, yesterday, Vice President of ADWIB, Mrs Josephine Itonyo, admonished the women to inculcate habits that would enhance their businesses into profitable ventures.
Itonyo who spoke with Africa Update, disclosed that the sensitization marked the beginning of a week long event, which would climax with a workshop for micro entrepreneurs on March 10, at Orusa close, by Woke road, off Abacha Road, GRA.
A cross section of dignitaries also shared their personal experiences to motivate the women on the need to push their businesses to the next level.
Those who spoke include: CEO of A4 jewels Ltd, Mrs. Ann Ashiogwu, CEO of Palomino Body Shop, Fitness and Spa, Mrs. Bimbo, CEO of Blanket of Hope, Mrs Ifeoma Toki, a popular comedian and business man, Ko Baba and Chairman of Independent Publishers Association of Rivers State, Gloria Boma Harry.
Gift items were also distributed to winners of the quiz competition.
