We did not send pilots to prison, Rivers AG says

As outcry trail the arrest and detention of two caverton helicopters pilots, Samuel Ugorji and Samuel Buhari, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Rivers State, Prof. Z. Adangor, has denied allegations that the pilots are in prison custody.

At a press briefing in Port Harcourt, he berated human rights activists and social commentators for not crosschecking their facts before criticising actions of the State government.

He disclosed that he had applied for variation of the order to remand the pilots at the port Harcourt correction centre, which was granted and the pilots have been at the state owned Delta Hotels, 3 Harley Street, Old GRA.

Stating further that the pilots are currently receiving medical examination to ascertain their status, in line with procedures to curtail the spread of the coronavirus.
