Reports of violence have trailed Saturday’s Local Government Council polls in Rivers State.
Africa Update gathered from sources that a female journalist who works for Silverbird Communications, was allegedly assaulted at Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area, ONELGA, by thugs suspected to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Eyewitness revealed that the journalist was chased into a private residence, by the thugs who suspected that pictures of their nefarious activities where taken by the journalist.
She was eventually overpowered and assaulted despite pleas by bystanders.
