The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) has appealed to judges in Rivers State to spell out stiffer punishment for rapists and those who violate the rights of a child.
This is contained in a communique issued by FIDA at the end of its two day workshop for the vulnerable in the state.
The communique read by the secretary of FIDA in Rivers State, Mrs. Nnenna Igbokwe also demanded a speedy justice system. Â
” There should be a specific objective for each goal. The Government needs to carry on with the sustainability of the plan.
“All stakeholders must work in synergy to achieve this goal. As there is need for more sensitization in the society. The men should also be re-oriented”, a part of the communique read.
