Policemen have arrested Pastor Chris Simon Amadi of Shalom Mercy Ministry in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State for allegedly strangling his wife to death in their home at Mbodo Community after a disagreement over school fees payment.
The wife’s relative who craved anonymity said trouble started when the deceased confronted her husband for chasing some of her pupils away from school for failing to pay their school fees on time, without getting her approval to do so.
Irked by his wife’s reprimand, the pastor had reportedly strangled her to death and wrapped her with clothes. Worried by her sudden disappearance after calling her phone repeatedly, her relatives had gone to her home to enquire about her whereabouts and they were told that she had gone out leaving her phone behind.
The bubble burst when they saw the remains of their sister wrapped with a cloth. They expressed regrets that they never knew that the abusive relationship would eventually end the live of their sister, who has been married to the Pastor since 2012.
They disclosed that the deceased who is the mother of four children, two boys and two girls, had suffered physical abuse over the years.
