Pastor Ibiyeomie’s defamatory case: court grants publishers bail

A Magistrates’ court in Port Harcourt, presided over by Chief Magistrate, Alatuwo Elkanah Fubara, has granted bail to popular blogger, Kemi Omolulu Olonloyo, and Samuel Walson, publisher of Rivers Today newspaper.

The publishers, were charged with four count charge  of publishing defamatory and malicious story against the General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, while the charge  on cyber crime against Kemi Omolulu Olonloyo, was struck out for lack of jurisdiction.

In his ruling granted the publishers bail in the sum of two hundred thousand Naira with credible sureties who reside in Port Harcourt.

The court adjourned the matter to May 4 for hearing.
