Nyesom Wike, Â the Governor of Rivers State, distributed over 2,000 bags of rice and 350 pieces of wrapper to members of the People Democratic Party, PDP, in Gokana Local Government Area of the state, as a show of appreciation for their support.
While receiving the items, distributed by the Secretary to the State Government, Â Kenneth Kobani and Commissioner of Finance, Fred Kpakol, some beneficiaries who spoke with Africa Update, expressed joy at the gesture, which they described as “Stomach Infrastructure “.
They commended Governor Wike for embarking on such distribution alongside ongoing infrastructural development in the area.
PDP members from 219 units of 17 wards in Gokana benefited from the gesture.
