Gov. Wike and the new Rivers Vision: The chronicle of a leader with a passion to make a difference (part 1)

Former UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, said: Sustainable development is the pathway to the future we want for all. It offers a framework to generate economic growth, achieve social justice, exercise environmental stewardship and strengthen governance. This quote by Ban Ki-moon, represents the developmental ideologies of the Rivers State Governor, Chief Bar. Nyesom Wike, who has not only transformed the landscape of Rivers State with projects, but has done so, with quality, people oriented projects.

Project Democracy an advocacy group, in a bid to understand the success story of Governor Wike, presents this special report to showcase some of these projects constructed in rural communities: 1. Reconstruction of state school 1 and 2, obonoma community in Akuku Toru Local Government Area 2. Reconstruction of state school , ilelema community in Asari Toru Local Government Area 3. Reconstruction nyemoni grammar school in Akuku Toru Local Government Area. 4. Expansion of kalabari national college, buguma, in Asari Toru Local Government Area. 5. Sand filling and land reclamation of kula community in Akuku Toru Local Government Area. 6. Reconstruction of degema zonal hospital, in Degema Local Government Area. 7. Reconstruction of Abonnema general hospital, Akuku Toru Local Government Area. 8. Construction of bille community primary health care centre in Degema Local Government Area.

9. Sand filling and land reclamation of abalama community in Asari Toru Local Government Area 10. Reconstruction of 8 classroom blocks at CPS, Obuama in Degema Local Government Area. While naysayers are obsessed with their quests to discredit the developmental efforts of multiple award winning Governor and Mr. Project, Governor Wike, we should reflect on the wise quote from a renowned spiritual teacher and bestselling author Don Miguel Ruiz: In our development, as we grow throughout our lives, the structure of our beliefs becomes very complicated, and we make it even more complicated because we make the assumption that what we believe is the absolute truth.
