  1. Drink a lot of water

Drinking enough water is one of the easiest ways to improve your health and lose more weight. Water cleans up the internal organs and flushes toxins out of the body. Always carry a bottle of water with you and drink at least 2 liters a day. You may need to drink more water if you’re highly active or live in a hot place.

  1. Reduce coffee intake

If you drink a lot of coffee, the excess caffeine will be stored as toxins. Drinking one or two cups of coffee a day may not do you any harm. Unfortunately most coffee drinkers drink way more than that. The best strategy is to replace coffee with green tea. It is rich in antioxidants that get rid of toxins and reduce inflammation.

  1. Fasting

One of the many benefits of fasting is detoxing the body. But fasting for a few hours won’t help, so fast for at least one day. The only thing you’re allowed to consume during the fasting period is beverages like green tea, water or smoothies.

Don’t fast too frequently though, fast once every 2 or 3 months. Note that it’s normal to experience diarrhea after the fast period is over.

  1. Meditation

Meditation will benefit both your body and mind. When we meditate our mental state improves and we reduce stress. Reducing stress detoxifies the body because research shows that stress causes toxins to accumulate in the body. If you’ve never meditated before, start with short sessions of 5 minutes every day.

  1. Increase fiber intake

Fiber helps improve digestion and prevents the food we eat from being stored as toxins. It’s recommended you eat at least 25 grams of fiber each day. Fiber is found in foods like legumes, fruits and vegetables.

  1. Sweat it out

We tend to forget that sweating is a great way to get rid of toxins. One of the best ways to sweat is through exercise. But if you can’t exercise to a point where you can sweat, just go sit in a sauna. But don’t go to a sauna every day because you’ll damage the skin cells fast if you expose them to extreme heat daily. Try once a week instead.

  1. Cut down on drugs

You don’t have to take drugs every time you have a mild headache. Most of the over-the-counter drugs we take do the body more harm than good. I understand that there are cases where we have to take drugs, but avoid taking them every time you have a minor discomfort. Use home remedies to fix minor aches.

  1. Eat organic food

Most food produce is packed with preservatives and pesticides. If you eat it long-term, toxins will end up accumulating in the body. Switch to organic to avoid these toxins. Yes, organic produce is more expensive sometimes, but it may save you major health problems in the long-run.
