To mark the World Breastfeeding Week, Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area collaborated with the Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board to organize a one day sensitization program on August 4.
The event with the theme: “Step up for breastfeeding, educate and support” and was chaired by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Amb. (Dr.) Angela Anthony Oju-Kienmie, who is also Supervisor for Health.
While delivering her opening speech she spoke of the Chairman’s interest in nourishing breastfeeding mothers and the provisions he had made available. She pointed out that she was standing in for the Council Chairman, Rt. Hon. Senibo (Dr.) Enyiada Cookey-Gam, the Balolo of Opobo Kingdom.
in Also in attendance were the Medical Officer of Health, in Opobo/Nkoro, Dr. Alege Dennis Soberekon, his deputy, the nutrition officer (desk officer in charge of the program), and nurses.
