A vehicle conveying party officials and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Rivers State Chapter, has been involved in a ghastly accident.
The accident, eyewitness account reveals, occurred along the Gwagwalada Road in FCT Abuja, in the early hours of today, as party members were heading back to Rivers State after attending the Presidential Primaries that took place between 7th and 8th June, at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
Africa Update gathered that the Party Secretary for Akuku Toru Local Government Area, in Rivers State, Onimitein Samuel, died in the accident, while other passengers sustained injuries.
Sources said the vehicle had somersaulted, causing the death of Samuel, who was the Vice Chairman of Rivers State Chapter of APC LGA Secretaries Forum.
Other party members and passerbys rushed the injured to an undisclosed hospital in Abuja while Samuel’s remains have been deposited at a mortuary.
