Rivers state election tribunal adjourns indefinitely

The election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory,  has adjourned indefinitely,  cases relating to the December 10, 2016 legislative elections in Rivers State.

The tribunal took the decision, after parties in the case adopted their final addresses. Those affected  include: Rivers East Senatorial District, Chief Andrew Igbonule Uchendu, candidate of the All progressives congress (APC),  challenging the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, Senator George Thompson Sekibo, Rivers South East Senatorial District, Chief Olaka Johnson Nwogu (PDP), challenging the election of Senator Magnus Ngei Abe (APC).

Others include, Ikwerre /Emouha Federal Constituency, Hon. Boniface Sunday Emekengwa ( PDP), challenging Chief Chidi Frank Wihioka (APC), Tai/ Eleme/  Oyigbo Federal constituency, Hon. Jacobson B. Nbina (PDP), challenging the election of Hon. Barinada Mpigi (APC) and Khana/ Gokana Federal constituency, Hon. Dumna Mene Dekor (PDP), challenging the election of Hon. Maurice Pronen (APC).
