The Election Petition Tribunal for the Rivers State December 10 rerun election, Â is set to hold its inaugural sitting in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Â on March 15.
According to our source, the Tribunal will hold a pre-trial conference on March 15 and will look at the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Rivers East Senatorial District, Â Chief Andrew Uchendu challenging the re-election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Â Senator George Sekibo.
Africa Update further gathered that the Tribunal fixed March 21, for pre- trial conference on the petition filed by the PDP candidate for Ikwerre/Emuoha Federal Constituency, Â Hon. Boniface Emerengwa, challenging the election of the APC candidate, Â Chief Chidi Nwiyorka.
The tribunal is also set to commence pre-trial conference on the petition filed by the PDP candidate for Tai/ Eleme/ Oyigbo Federal Constituency, Â Hon. Jacobson Mbina, Â challenging the re-election of APC candidate, Hon. Barry Mpigi on the same day.
