Rivers State: NBC denounces counterfeiting, illegal Production of Eva Water 

An alleged illegal production and counterfeiting of Eva Premium Table Water (75cl & 1.5L) in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital has been uncovered by the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Limited.

In a statement signed by its Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Director, Oluwasoromidayo George, NBC said counterfeiting can endanger the health and wellbeing of Nigerians.

“Our attention has been drawn to the discovery made by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) regarding the adulteration of Eva Premium Table Water (75cl & 1.5L) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. As the bottling partner for The Coca-Cola Company in Nigeria, we strongly denounce and condemn any illegal production and counterfeiting activity that can endanger the health and wellbeing of Nigerians.

“The sanctity of our brand is non-negotiable, and we remain resolute in our commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality, excellence, and authenticity. As such, we follow stringent protocols and adhere to all regulatory requirements to ensure that our consumers receive products of the highest quality.

“To assist consumers in identifying authentic Coca-Cola products and avoiding counterfeit ones, we would like to share the following tips: Distinct product design and labels: All Coca-Cola products have distinct bottle designs and labels with clear inscriptions, including the nutritional values, net content, and certification marks and numbers clearly printed.

Certification: All our products are duly certified by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC) and Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON). Consumers should look out for NAFDAC and MANCAP registration numbers on the labels/packaging on all our products.

 “We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any instance of tampering with Eva premium table water or suspicious counterfeiting activity to the relevant authorities.”
