Rivers APC National Assembly candidate joins PDP

The House of the Representative candidate for Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sir Collyns Owhonda has joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State.

His defection to PDP, at the twilight of the Supplementary elections billed for April 15th, is on the heels of his alleged suspension from APC, Africa Update reports.

According to a statement from the party, Owhonda was accused of secretly holding meetings with PDP despite being the candidate of APC.

APC had consequently declared that the party would not participate in the supplementary election because it no longer had a candidate.

Owhonda would have gone against the PDP candidate Barrister Mrs Blessing Amadi, if he had not defected.
