Ahead of the party primaries, the expanded State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has resolved to use indirect mode of elections to select candidates for various elective positions.
The SEC presided over by the party Chairman, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree reached the unanimous decision today, September 6, via voting.
No fewer than 106 out of the 110 SEC members voted in favour of the indirect mode of elections, while three voted for consensus and one favoured direct methods of election.
It will be recalled that the NEC had earlier approved the timetable for the primaries as follows;
Presidency 26th of September, 2018, House of Representatives September 27th, Governorship September 29th and House of Assembly October 2nd.
