Several members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, dumped the opposition party for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, today. A Cross section of leaders of several Non governmental organizations, who led their members, numbering several thousands, to join the PDP, said the move was necessitated by the fact that APC has lost its focus and there was no need for them to remain in a party that has nothing to offer its members now, or in the future.
Welcoming the defectors to the Party, the State Chairman, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, expressed delight at their decision to defect and assured them of maximum support and integration into the party. Other leaders at the event include Chief Dr. Chidi Lloyd, members of the state executive and other dignitaries.
