The federal government has on tuesday issued a directive to medical doctors across the country to treat all victims and patients with gunshot.
The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, made the disclosure at the induction ceremony of foreign graduate organised by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
He said that the federal government is keen on the safety of lives and the provision of adequate health care services to citizens , and admonished hospitals to priotise life above money by rendering medical service in emergency situation even when it involves gunshot. Stressing that the individual should be saved before necessary security measures could be taken.
According to him, he reiterated that the federal ministry of health has formulated a framework to ensure that the failures and ills in the health system are reversed.
Speaking further, he assured the young doctors of placement at any of the MDCN accredited centres to ease the difficulties experienced during the search for placement of resident doctors.
