Project Democracy kick-starts citizenship awareness advocacy

Project Democracy, a socio political group in Rivers State, has commenced citizenship awareness advocacy in the State. This advocacy, according to the President General of the Group, Amb. Gloria Boma Harry, is aimed at creating public participation in the ongoing voters registration.

Members of the group visited traders and residents at Mercyland area of Mgbouba community, off NTA road, in Obio/Akpo Local Government Area, on November 26, to sensitize them on the need for citizens to get involved in the process that would produce their leaders in the upcoming general elections.

A cross section of residents who spoke with Africa Update, decried the absence of a registration point in the densely populated area. They called on relevant authorities to address this, to enable them exercise their franchise when the time comes.
