Lawan, who is from Yobe state, is the current incumbent Senate leader. The senators of the All Progressives Congress (APC) may have chosen Senator Ahmad Lawan (Yobe state) as the next Senate president.
According to a report by The Sun, the presidency is not likely to be averse to his choice, considering how he was the party’s preferred choice as senate president in June 2015. However, the party is yet to confirm if it is considering Lawan or any other person for the Senate President seat.
