Kalabari Bridge Builders and Development Initiative, KBBDI, a socio-political group in Rivers State, says “the alleged mastermind responsible for the abduction of the construction worker on trans-kalabari road project is not a foreigner but a miscalculated indigene of the Kalabari Kingdom who lacks the DNA of its moral value.”
A press release signed by the President General of the Group, Hon. Soberekon Clarke, and made available to Africa Update, while condemning the act, stressed that “history reveals that the idea of surviving through kidnapping is abominable and considered an alien occupation to the people of the Kalabari nation.”
Excerpts of the press release: PRESS RELEASE BY KALABARI BRIDGE BUILDERS AND DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (KBBDI) ON THE ACCOUNT OF THE ABDUCTION OF A CONSTRUCTION WORKER OF THE TRANS-KALABARI ROAD PROJECT
We the Kalabari Bridge Builders and Development Initiative(KBBDI) globally known as Kalabari Solidarity Movement(KSM,) have in the spirit of oneness strongly endorsed and fully thrown our weight behind the condemnatory remarks of our revered traditional rulers, sociocultural organizations, and other eminent sons and daughters of the Kalabari extraction in execrating the mastermind, unpatriotic, and devil incarnate responsible for the abduction of a construction worker on the trans-kalabari road project.
In view of this sad event, we the Kalabari Bridge Builders and Development Initiative wish to categorically state the following for public consumption:
That the alleged mastermind responsible for the abduction of the construction worker on trans-kalabari road project is not a foreigner but a miscalculated indigene of the Kalabari Kingdom who lacks the DNA of its moral value.
Again, history reveals that the idea of surviving through kidnapping is abominable and considered an alien occupation to the people of the Kalabari nation. There has never been any genetic footprint or historical clue found in the life of any Kalabari person who had engaged in such inhuman means of livelihood.
However, it will be recalled that the wife of a multimillionaire oil magnate, a remarkable chief of the Kalabari ethnic nationality became the first victim of kidnapping when it was introduced by this demonic monster replete with evil machinations. She was abducted in 2008 and #500m ransom was demanded for her release.
Nevertheless, some selfless and patriotic youths of the Kalabari Kingdom became provoked and immediately swung into action for her release which yielded positive result after several fruitless attempts by security operatives to release her from her abductors.
On this note, the Kalabari Bridge Builders and Development Initiative kindly urge all true sons and daughters of the Kalabari Kingdom to rise against this ugly trend and ostracise this enemy of our society in order to forestall further happenings.
On the final note, we are therefore, asking the mastermind of this heinous crime to unconditionally release the expatriate under his hostage with immediate alacrity before it is too late.
