Anambra Election declared inconclusive, INEC fixes date for supplementary election

There is an atmosphere of suspense in Anambra State, as candidates on the platform of various Political parties jostling for the Governorship ticket would have to wait a few days to know their fate. This new twist in the Political equation is sequel to an announcement by the Returning Officer of the Anambra State governorship election, Professor Florence Obii, that a supplementary election will hold in 362 polling units in Ihiala Local Government Area on Tuesday, November 9.

Citing the constitution, Prof. Obi noted that election had to take place in those polling units for the election to be conclusive. Stating further that that election did not take place in Ihiala because there were reports of insecurity.

Meanwhile, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, leads with a total vote of 103, 946, while the PDP candidate garnered 51322 votes.
