The APC governorship candidate in Rivers State, Tonye Cole has recommended strict implementation of policies and dialogues with people at the grassroots as one of the ways to end corruption in Nigeria.

Tonye Cole who spoke at an Anti-corruption event in Port Harcourt said if government was not willing to sit and deliberate with the people, corruption would continue to thrive in every area of the nation’s life.

“If you want to know how to tackle corruption, you must be willing to sit down with your business community, sit down wit those who are going out every single day and ask them the question, how can we help you to ensure that your business can flow without the hurdles of corruption? Are you willing to do that? The government is not willing to sit down one-on-one to ease and remove the hurdles, because it’s those hurdles that create corruption. Wherever there’s a bottleneck, there will be corruption”, Tonye Cole stated.

The governorship aspirant further called on the Federal and State governments to invest in technology and human capital development to fast track the fight against corruption.
