The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Rivers State Command, says 6 suspects have been arrested in connection with unauthorised dealership in petroleum product. A statement signed by the State PRO, Assistant Commandant, Michael Oguntuase, the suspects were arrested at about 0850hrs, on August 20th, by the anti Vandal team of the command, along Agip Gate Jetty, off Eagle Island Road, in Obio / Akpo Local Government Area of the State.
He said the arrest was made possible following intelligence report. The statement reads in part: On 20th August, 2021 the Anti Vandal Team of the NSCDC Rivers state Command, following received intelligence at about 0850hrs arrested 6 Suspected Oil thieves with a black barge by name (M V EUCHARIRIA). along AGIP Gate Jetty , off Eagle Island road, Obio / Okpo LGA. Port Harcourt .
“The Barge contains 28 Compartments , out of which 12 are filled with suspected Adulterated Automotive Gas Oil. (AGO).Â
Investigation is ongoing to apprehend all those involved in the crime for possible prosecution.
