Sometime in the early 90’s I was involved in employment of drivers, all applicants passed the orals and had impeccable driving experience, when it got to the practicals surprisingly no one passed, late 90’s I was to employ a personal driver, based on my earlier experience I skipped the orals ,I was nearly killed, 60% were involved in various degrees of accident incidentally they all had licence.
Replace the drivers with our politicians jostling to rule us and the interviewer as the citizens then you will understand my analogy.
Imagine employing a not too good driver (politician) to drive a battered vehicle (our economy) Just because he had good license (paper qualification) and he passed the orals (debate) but lacks on the job dexterity, you will continue to have headaches.
Unless a good driver who is sincere and will not sell your car parts or pocket the fuel money(corruption)

The present crop of rulers can be likened to drivers who jumped into a vehicle, start and move the car without a destination. How can you administer a nation without economic goals and objective? No development plan? Nothing?
Our entire experience with democracy has been direction less,they tell us what we want to hear without telling us how they are going to achieve it
The solution to our problems is very simple and does not require rocket science-REMOVE DEPENDENCY ON THE OIL SECTOR, GENERATE INCOME FROM OTHER SOURCES TO BRING IN FOREIGN EXCHANGE, CRASH THE EXCHANGE RATE AND BRING DOWN CONSUMPTION OF FOREIGN GOODS
