Rivers State: FRSC says Civilians, Military personnel to undergo psychiatric test

The Rivers State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Imoh Etuk,  has warned that traffic offenders in the state would be subjected to medical evaluation to ascertain their mental state.

He disclosed to newsmen that the directive will take effect from July 1, 2017, reiterating that all residence of Rivers State would be subjected to the test no matter their social status.

His words: “So what the corps is saying is very simple. Please do not use your phone while driving; park to make that call.

“The corps is saying is don’t drive against traffic, whether you are a military personnel , whatever uniform you are wearing, we are saying all Nigerians.

“Do not overload your vehicles because overloading is not only an issue of safety concern, it is also an economic cost; because once you overload, the weight of the tire on the road impinges on the road and therefore impinges on our economy “.
