Rivers State: CTC boss imposes curfew in Gokana

The caretaker committee chairman of  Gokana Local Government Area, Hon. Luis Alawa has announced the restriction of movement in the area, between 7pm and 6am daily.

A press statement issued to journalists after a security meeting , stated that  the curfew became imperative, following recent spate of killings in the area.

It revealed that a traditional truce was reached at the security meeting with security agents, paramount rulers of all the communities as well as clan heads.

The truce was put in place between lewe,  gbomu, leke and leyor communities to forestall further killings. It was also declared that any mercenary who is killed in the cause of prosecuting any war will not be allowed into the community for burial.
