There is tension in Ogbogoro and Rumuekini communities, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, following the discovery of the lifeless body of the Ward 15 Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, Heaven Ihuigwe, by policemen.
A source told Africa Update that Ihuigwe, had reportedly gone to visit a friend last week and went missing afterwards until his corpse and vehicle were recovered from Rumuekini community by operatives of the Rivers State Police on Sunday.
Youths from Ogbogoro community were said to have besieged Rumuekini community to confirm and possibly demand an explanation for the gruesome murder of their kinsman and cars including properties worth several millions were destroyed during the rampage.
The situation was however brought under control by some elders from bought communities, who have pleaded with the youths to sheath their swords and allow the Rivers State Police Command, conduct investigation into the murder of the Ogbogoro son.
