The Comptroller General of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) Mr. Peter Ekpendu has denied allegations that his Orderly had assaulted a female member of the House of Representative, representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State Hon. Onyemeachi Mprakpor, on Wednesday within the premises of the National Assembly for allegedly overtaking the 15-car convoy of the prison boss on her way out of the National Assembly Complex.
A statement issued by the Prisons boss stated that whereas it was true that he was at the National Assembly on the invitation of a committee to attend to some official issues with some of his staff, neither the pilot car in front of him nor his official car had any confrontation with anyone, further describing himself as a law abiding and peace loving citizen of Nigeria who has never been involved in any act of hooliganism or impunity.
Ekpendu maintained that he would never encouraged any form of abuse on any Nigerian including the honourable member of the National Assembly.
