The Rivers state house of Assembly has elected the new principal officers of the 9th Assembly.
The
former Majority leader of the house Martin Amehule who had a total of
29 votes was reelected by nomination, by the lawmaker representing
Asari-Toru constituency 2, Enemi George and seconded by the lawmaker
representing Asari-Toru constituency 1, George Ipalibo.
The lawmaker representing Khana constituency 1, Barieene Deeya was elected as the deputy Majority leader of the house.
Lawmaker
representing Ogu/bolo constituency ,Evans Bipi was also elected as the
Chief Whip of the house , while the lawmaker representing Akuku-Toru
constituency 1, Major Jack was elected as the deputy chief whip of the
9th assembly .
According to our reporter Tamunotonte Abiye, the house was adjourned to Thursday 13th June for next sitting
