The Rivers State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed 13 Caretaker committee chairmen and members for reappointment.
The screening and confirmation was sequel to the list forwarded by the Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike.
Thirteen Local Government Council committees that were reappointed today are as follows:
1) Port Harcourt City Local Government Area
2) Oyigbo Local Government Area
3) Khana Local Government Area
4) Tai. Local Government Area
5)Abua/ Odual Local Government Area
6) Eleme Local Government Area
7) Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area
8) Bonny Local Government Area
9) Akuku-Toru Local Government Area
10) Etche Local Government Area
11) Omuma Local Government Area
12) Gokana Local Government Area
13) Ahoada-East Local Government Area
While Ten other Local Government Caretaker committees were dissolved and reconstituted. Those affected are
1) Ikwerre Local Government Area
2) Asari- Toru. local Government Area
3) Okirika Local Government Area
4) Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area
5) Andoni Local Government Area
6) Degema Local Government Area
7) Obio / Akpor Local Government Area
8) Emouha Local Government Area
9) Opobo/ Nkoro Local Government Area
10) Ahoada-West Local Government Area
No reason was however given for the sack of these caretaker committees.
