The Federal Road Safety Commission in Kogi says six persons died at about 3p.m. on Saturday in a ghastly accident on the Ajaokuta-Itobe-Ayangba road in the state.
The head-on-collision which caused a temporary disruption of traffic on the road, was between a Toyota passenger bus marked BENUE MKD 841 XA and a Volkswagen Golf car marked KOGI LKJ 335 CV.
The state Sector Commander of the commission , Ogochukwu Ugboma, noted in a statement that 12 other people were critically injured in the crashÂ
The bodies of four men including the  driver of the Golf car, identified as Mohammed Ali, and two women have been deposited at the morgue of Grimad Hospital, Ayangba, while 12 persons that sustained varying degrees of injury were taken to nearby hospitals for medical attention.
