Nigerian music star David “Davido” Adeleke has revealed the deeply personal reason he wore cufflinks bearing a portrait of his late son, Ifeanyi, at his recent wedding to Chioma. The emotional tribute was a way for the couple to keep their son close to them on their special day.
The pair, who wed in Miami on August 10, 2025, made sure their son was present in spirit. While Chioma’s wedding bouquet had a pinned image of Ifeanyi, Davido’s choice of cufflinks served a similar purpose.
In a recent interview with Vogue Wedding, Davido shared the significance behind his choice. “My cufflinks held a portrait of our angel, Ifeanyi, a way to keep him close to our hearts on the most beautiful night of our lives,” he said.
The artist, who has often spoken about the profound grief following his son’s passing, explained that the gesture brought him a sense of peace. “I felt at peace. I got to marry the love of my life and I get to wake up next to her forever.”
