The Rivers State Police Commissioner Joseph Mukan, has assured relatives and civil society groups in the state of the speedy delivery of Justice for the Ikoku 5. Speaking at the Command’s Headquarters at Moscow Road, in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, on Friday, June 19, when the leadership of collation of Civil society organization paid him a courtesy visit, Mukan said those officers involved in the dastardly act that resulted in the death of Chima Ikwunado and the torture of four others will be prosecuted by the end of June.
On his part, the chairman of the collation, Enefa Georgewill, expressed dismay at the delay in the investigation and prosecution of the officers who arrested and tortured five ikoku traders that resulted in the death of Chima Ikwunado. This visit to the Commissioner is coming days before the expiration of a 14- day ultimatum given by the civil society group for the completion of investigations and prosecution of perpetrators.
