Man almost butchered to death in Rivers

On June 6, a middle-aged man identified as Engr. Aji Mbaka, an indigene of Ogale Community in Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State, escaped death by the whiskers when he was attacked by men who were armed with machetes and sticks. According to the victim, who is now struggling for his dear life, he had gone to the farm on the fateful day when he was attacked on his way back to his residence.

His story:“On Saturday afternoon I went to my farm, I was arranging corn and other crops on my bike, I have not gone some meters from my farm when I saw three herdsmen who came out from the other farm with sticks in their hands and machetes, the next thing they did was to hit the stick on my chest, two of the men hit my chest and I fell down and  3 of the herdsmen started slaughtering me and I cried for help. I couldn’t stand but I tried to run but I fell down and they caught me and continued cutting my head, I fought back and tried to run again but they continued slaughtering every part of my body and I don’t know how God helped me to escape from them, I ran down to the road where I saw a bike that helped me to this hospital”.
”At this point security should be the responsibility of everyone. Our mothers and loved ones go to the farm in the same place and might be raped or attacked again by these evil herdsmen.
Some sympathizers who spoke with newsmen on the attack said: Please we are calling on the king of Eleme Kingdom, HRM. Emere Philip Obele (Jp), the Paramount ruler of Ogale Community, HRH. Chief Bebe Okpabi, the local Government Chairman, Hon. Barr Philip Okparaji, the Councillor of Ogale Community, Hon. Pst. Oluka Joel Omai, the Youth President, Comr. Noble Nwolu to come to the aid of Engr. Aji Mbaka as his condition needs serious medical attention and financial support. Also, it is very sad to know such a barbaric act was done on our great land and no one knows about it or said anything about it.
