A statement signed by the spokesman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC ) Eric Omare has described his purported suspension by some members of the national executive council (NEC) as laughable and fraudulent.
Omare, in his statement on Sunday, alleged that the letter which also suspended the IYC President, Mr. Udengs Eradiri, was fraudulently prepared by only the National Secretary, Mobilisation Officer and National Legal Adviser, Mr. Bristol-Alagbariya Emmanuel, Ekine Egbelekro and Wisdom Ikuli respectively , while the signature of the Assistant Secretary, George Deinkoru, was forged.
The statement reiterated that the power to suspend or remove officers of the council was the function of the IYC Mobile Parliament, in accordance with Article 10 (B) and (C) of the IYC Constitution , which can only take effect after thorough investigation.
On its part, the IYC Mobile Parliament has described the alleged suspension of Eradiri and Omare as null and void, maintaining that Eradiri remains the IYC President and Omare, the spokesman.
