Governor Fubara to Commission Permanent Secretaries Quarters in Obio/Akpor

In a continued demonstration of the administration’s commitment to civil service welfare and infrastructural development, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, is scheduled to formally commission the Permanent Secretaries Quarters on Monday, 22nd December 2025.

The high-profile ceremony is set to take place at 11:00 am at the newly completed residential complex, situated adjacent to the Elimgbu Police Station, off the Elimgbu/Eneka Road in Rumukwurushi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

The Quarters represent a significant investment in the state’s administrative framework, designed to provide high-ranking civil servants with suitable accommodation close to the seat of power. This project is widely viewed as a strategic effort by the Fubara administration to bolster the morale and efficiency of the state’s most senior bureaucrats.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Benibo Fredrick Anabraba, the Rivers State Government advised members of the public and regular commuters to plan their journeys accordingly.

To ensure the seamless conduct of the commissioning ceremony and to mitigate the risk of gridlock, the government has appealed to motorists to utilise alternative routes away from the Elimgbu/Eneka axis for the duration of the event.

“While we regret any inconvenience this may cause the public, we thank you for your usual cooperation,” Dr Anabraba noted in the official dispatch.

The commissioning is expected to draw several high-ranking government officials, traditional rulers, and stakeholders from across the state, further solidifying the administration’s “Rivers First” development agenda as the year draws to a close.
