fulani hersdmen kill over 200 local farmers in Enugu State

Fulani herdsmen have invaded several communities in Enugu State in the early hours of today killing about 200 local farmers in the area.
An eye witness who survived the attack said that they woke up in the early hours of today to see hundreds of Fulani militants armed with sophisticated weapons including AK-47 riffles, sharp matchets and charms.
“Its very early in the morning when we started hearing gun shots and people screaming. I decided to go and find out what the noise is all about with some of my friends, we didn’t go far before we saw people dressed like boko haram and were slaughtering people like fowl.
“They started chasing us immediately they sighted us and we had to flee alerting other people. I currently don’t know the faith of my friends who ran with me as everybody was scavenging for safety.”
Police public Relations officer in Enugu State confirmed the incident to newsmen stating that security has been beefed up in the area.
Survivors have fled to neighboring communities like Nkpologu and Uvuru for safety while several others went to Nsukka.
