Arsenal agree Aubameyang deal

Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but have to now wait for the German side to find his replacement.

Bryan Swanson reports that the two clubs have agreed a deal but the wait goes on for the move to be confirmed.

An official announcement is being held up by Dortmund’s aim to sign the player’s replacement before this week’s deadline.

There had originally been hope that Olivier Giroud could be included as part of the deal and would, therefore, become Aubameyang’s replacement, however that now looks unlikely.

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is now the favourite to move to Dortmund on loan until the end of the season, however, that move is being held up by Arsenal, who do not want to lose Giroud to Antonio Conte’s side.

The Premier League champions are looking to try and sign the latter from Arsenal before Monday’s deadline.
