Former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, was recently spotted wearing his robe and wig, signifying the possible beginning of a new career path for the former Governor of Rivers State.

Africa Update reports that the online post of Amaechi dressed as a lawyer brings a twist to previous assumptions that the two term Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly might retire from politics to focus on Music.

Amaechi, had made the headlines in May 2023, when alongside his wife Dame Judith Amaechi, the duo released a new song as part of their ongoing series of responsorial psalms, with a particular focus on Psalm 104.

The release was shortly after Amaechi’s noticeable absence from the inauguration of Bola Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State, as president on May 29th.

Amaechi was seen attending the inauguration of Alex Otti from the Labour Party as the governor of Abia State, that held at Umuahia Township Stadium.

It is worth noting that Amaechi’s absence from Tinubu’s inauguration was widely speculated to be due to Tinubu’s alignment with Nyesom Wike, a political rival of Amaechi during his time as governor.

The release of the song on May 27th,  marked Amaechi’s 58th birthday. This comes two years after his first single, which was released in celebration of his 56th birthday.

As the saying goes, only time will tell what the future holds for Amaechi and his new found passion.

Recall that Amaechi had on 19 November 2022, announced on “X, formerly known as Twitter, that he is a certified graduate of law. He had graduated from the Baze University, Abuja, with a second-class upper degree in Law.
