Your leader and our former leader, Mr. Peter Obi, has moved to the NDC, yet most of his core followers from the East have remained and said they are not leaving with him.
My dear brothers and sisters, where will Peter Obi get the basic votes needed to remove President Bola Tinubu from office? Is Peter Obi now depending on the core Northern states alone to defeat President Bola Tinubu?
My prayer every day is to see a new Nigeria filled with hope and progress. In my 20 years of active politics, I have come to understand the dynamics of Nigerian politics. I have not only been a party man, but I have also been part of the electoral process and have seen how most elections are decided. Peter Obi is a choice many people want, but he has taken a wrong direction at the wrong time.
If he was a smart politician, he would have focused on building his party immediately after the last election. Instead, in his usual manner, he prefers joining already established parties to push his long-standing presidential ambition.
Peter Obi and many of his supporters do not truly understand the process of politics. They do not want to go through the process; they only want the final product.
I will say it boldly: as much as no politician in Nigeria is a saint, including Peter Obi, we can still build something meaningful out of nothing. Just as Christians are taught that when Jesus came to save the world, He did not go into the church to pick His disciples. He went to the streets and chose ordinary men and sinners because they already understood the environment and could help spread the gospel. He taught them principles and sent them into the world to preach the good news.
Many of you have pointed fingers at Atiku, calling him different names, yet no court has ever convicted him of stealing. Most of the accusations against him are based on propaganda spread by political opponents.
Atiku Abubakar remains the only man today who can truly challenge Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in an election. Atiku holds the political key to Aso Rock if Peter Obi truly wants to get there.
After Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar has one of the strongest political structures in Nigeria today.
Take my state, Rivers State, for example. Who exactly does Peter Obi have on ground to defend votes and control election structures on election day?
The same challenge exists in many other states. The ADC has experienced men and women who can mount polling units and secure votes.
Forget the celebrities shouting and cheering Peter Obi online. Most of them are only chasing clout, growing followers, and building their social media platforms.
The real people who win elections do not make noise on social media. Elections are not won by Gen Z trends or by busy Nigerians who are unwilling to spend hours at polling units protecting votes.
Peter Obi can become president only if he is willing to follow the process, without abandoning his principles to the old Nigerian political system, while still keeping his eyes on the goal.
But unfortunately, the man seems afraid of the process and only wants the product. Peter Obi made a big mistake, and with time, he may live to regret it.
