Angry Kalabari youths took over the headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, today.

The youths under the aegis of Kalabari Indigenous Movement. were reportedly protesting the neglect of Kalabari Kingdom in the execution of NDDC projects.

President of the group, Soprebo Douglas, in a communiqué to the Commission, threatened to shut down oil wells operating in Kalabari communities if nothing is done to address the anomaly.

Security agents were seen dispersing the crowd with teargas and some gunshots were also heard around the vicinity.
