2019 Election: INEC Urges Journalists To Stay Professional

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is calling on journalists to be unbiased in their coverage of the 2019 elections.

INEC’s Head of Voter Education in Rivers State, Edwin Enabor said this at the opening ceremony of the 2018 Correspondents’ week in Port Harcourt with theme, Promoting Security In 2019 Elections: The Role Of The Media

He said with the elections less than 90 days, journalists most aspire to be professional in their reportage before, during and after the elections.

On the part of INEC, Edwin Enabor said the commission is prepared to play its role to deliver a credible election to Nigerians in 2019 and pledged that the commission will be transparent in its dealings with the media and electorates throughout the period of the elections and beyond.
