Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, former Chairman of Asari-Toru local government area, as emerged as the new State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State.
Ojuakye was voted during the State Congress that held at Elekahia Community town hall this morning, May 21, 2018.
The congress which was very peaceful and organised also saw the re election of Emeka Beke as Secretary while Chris Finebone was also returned as Publicity Secretary.
This last minute decision by the leader of the Party and Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and other stakeholders to replace Chief Davies Ibiamu Ikanya with Amachree, will put pressure on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the 2019 general elections, because with Amachree at the wheel of power, APC would emerge stronger and formidable.
Africa Update gathered that Ikanya has been pencilled to replace Victor Giadom as the next Deputy National Secretary.
Giadom is also expected to run for Senate replacing Magnus Abe, who has officially declared his governorship ambition.
